What does being present in the moment really entail?
Is it being aware of everything that's happening around oneself?
If that's the case, what does 'everything' mean here?
Maybe it's the maximum amount of information that the brain can comprehend with respect to that particular environment.
But imagine our brain constantly inspecting the entire spectrum of data available in the visual, auditory, olfactory, and other sensory formats.
Wouldn't it take everything we have to comprehend everything, everywhere, all at once?

As a finite being, we cannot afford that. Hence, our brain follows the physical and metaphysical limits.
We focus us on the information that we need.
Now, this seems like a major breakthrough. So let's dive into it.
- Our brains focuses on mainly two broad categories of information; our needs and our desires (remember, both are equally powerful reasons).
- The 'need' information is first priority. They follow the 'hierarchy of needs' as illustrated by Maslow 20240609_Maslow'sHierarchyOfNeeds_info.
- Since it's based on the basic physical, psychological and social composition of humans, it's difficult to start changing that without a significant amount of capital (both social and economical). So it's really not something that everyone can afford.
- But what we can do shift focus on the 'desire' information that we prioritize.
- By choosing to look, hear, smell, touch, feel things which are more aligned to what we want, we can slowly shift the hierarchy of the information we perceive to live our desired lives.
This is how we cultivate the power to change ourselves.
This is how transformation is achieved by someone struggling to change. It arises from the realisation that the only a different input can change the output.**
It all starts from the will to change. A purpose to fully believe in.
And it all starts with being present, the best gift you can give for your future.
