What is it?
It can't be as simple as 'a formulated thought', right?
Is it an extrapolation or an interconnection between 2 thoughts?
A thought can be a simple as a word, a single visual, or a memory.
But isn't it more of what arises from the thought, or bunch of thoughts put together?
The root of the word 'idea' comes from means "to see".
But to see what? Can it be a form? A pattern?
Can it be a series of "mental composites assembled from remembered observations"?
Perhaps it's the parts of a whole which are used to see the whole in the context of everything else.
The origins of ideas
The idea of science as a discipline may have arisen from slow, deliberate efforts to understand the world by explorers who FELT boundless curiosity in knowing and discovering the world they're surrounded by.
The idea of capitalism as an economic system may have originated from an intelligent financier who FELT the need to structure the resources at the nation's disposal for its efficient usage.
The idea of religion as a belief system where we harmonize our individual lives into a collective living may have come from people who FELT the desire to connect to a higher being and pave a way for others to provide purpose to people's lives and reach their salvations.
