Pluto. An entire anime, delicately crafted to drive home a singular message.
This series is a wonder. It draws a complex relationship between robots and humans, and the endless cycle of suffering perpetuated by both.
I never imagined a story about robots would teach me so much about empathy.
I haven't been so hooked/fascinated/moved by a series like this in so long that has also taught me so much about the emotions we feel. Happiness, sadness, anger, guilt, loss....so many emotions drive our actions and influence all of our lives for generations to come.
One of the most potent of all is [hatred.] The one we need to be most careful about.
To err is to be human. And what happens when we create the perfect robot, one that can be as 'flawed' as a human?
"The most advanced robot can lie, to others, and most of all, to itself".
Will we unleash the most advanced robots? Or are they us after all?
(P.S. Pluto reminds me of what I wanted to do with KAL3)
