We had a BNI session where each member was supposed to recite a thirukkural along with our presentation.
For context, Thirukkural is a classical Tamil text, a set of 1000+ short poems written by Thiruvalluvar, the poet and philosopher.
The genius of Thirukkural is that each kural is just 7 words long. But the amount of wisdom one contains is boundless.
And I had chosen this one.

Thirukkural 211:
Kaimmaaru Ventaa Katappaatu Maarimaattu
En Aatrung Kollo Ulaku

Translation:
Duty demands nothing in turn;
How can the world recompense rain?

[P.S. I may be slightly off with the paraphrased translation, I also referred to Google at the time. Since this is my randomized note for today, I'm going to take it as a sign to learn.]
